Giant Trevally are a solid, heavily muscled fish that can grow upwards of 90kg in these waters. They have immense power and are one of the most dogged fighters in the ocean. They are found all around these reef systems with the larger ones keeping company with the biggest of the reef sharks, a ploy they use in the ambushing of prey. We were lucky enough to get a few Giant Trevally in the 30kg-40kg range, but boy do they make you work on light gear!

Sydney Game Fishing Club Xmas Party for The Childrens Hospital Part 1
A great day was had by one and all at the 2009 Xmas Party for The Children’s Hospital Randwick. This event has been held annually at the S.G.F.C. club house at Watson’s Bay, Sydney Harbour for 25 years now. Many Sydney Game Fishing Club members and skippers with their boats, along with local businesses and community all chipped in to make it special for the Kids. Scott Reef (2) Sportfishing
Its never boring fishing at Scott Reef, you just never know what’s going to turn up at the back of the boat and smash a lure. A few times we’ve had wahoo stalking the lures, actually drop back, only to come hurtling from the water from 10 metres behind and 4 metres above to smash their prey. If you match their blistering speed with their aeronautics, then not much is safe from this awsome predator, widely recognised as head of the ’Razor Gang’, with the spanish mackeral and the barracuda, being next

Rowley Shoals (2)
Multiple hookups are the norm at Rowley Shoals, whether Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, or a mass attack including Wahoo and Dogtooth Tuna. There are some big Dogtooth at Rowleys and along with their mates the Wahoo, they managed to decimate our tackle and lures. This was expected however, I had told all our group, that whatever the feelings they had previously had towards Wahoo, I bet they’d be screaming out #@%!#! Wahoo, quite a bit out here. Interesting note about alcohol consumption on board Oceaneer, I’v
