On this video..Yellowfin Tuna have a strong tendency to school with fish their same size, but not necessarily their same species. Hence any of the smaller Dolphin, like the Spotted, the Spinner and the Common Dolphin, are good indicators of their whereabouts, as are Pilot Whales and floating objects. They are voracious feeders and its not uncommon for them to smash every lure in the pack, regardless of size, shape, or colour. Rarely far away are the Makos and the Blue Sharks. Its been our experience that rarely are the Yellowfin intimidated at all by the presence of these sharks. We’ve had a solid Mako at the back of the boat awaiting release and seen him surrounded by Yellowfin trying to smash any bait in the vicinity. Sydney yellowfin tuna fishing videos.
Yellowfin Tuna, Striped Tuna, Albacore, Mako Shark, Blue Shark. We’d regularly pick up Yellowfin on lures, but as a rule, they’d only be on average a third of the size of those we’d pick up when cubing(chunking).

Its never boring fishing at Scott Reef, you just never know what’s going to turn up at the back of the boat and smash a lure. A few times we’ve had wahoo stalking the lures, actually drop back, only to come hurtling from the water from 10 metres behind and 4 metres above to smash their prey. Rowley Shoals (2)
Multiple hookups are the norm at Rowley Shoals, whether Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, or a mass attack including Wahoo and Dogtooth Tuna. There are some big Dogtooth at Rowleys and along with their mates the Wahoo, they managed to decimate our tackle and lures.
