It was Broome’s Inaugural Fly Fishing Tournament for Sailfish and we were fishing for Sydney Fly Rodders, apart from a few international entrants it was virtually a State of Origin Series with a couple of extra states thrown in. As luck would have it Sydney was in the right state. We were fortunate to have on board in our quest, good mates Dennis ’Brazakka’ Wallace, a recent inductee into The Marlin Hall of Fame and Paul B Kidd, a well known fishing journalist/editor and identity in Sydney gamefishing circles

Sydney Game Fishing Club Xmas Party for The Childrens Hospital Part 1
A great day was had by one and all at the 2009 Xmas Party for The Children’s Hospital Randwick. This event has been held annually at the S.G.F.C. club house at Watson’s Bay, Sydney Harbour for 25 years now. Many Sydney Game Fishing Club members and skippers with their boats, along with local businesses and community all chipped in to make it special for the Kids. Its never boring fishing at Scott Reef, you just never know what’s going to turn up at the back of the boat and smash a lure. A few times we’ve had wahoo stalking the lures, actually drop back, only to come hurtling from the water from 10 metres behind and 4 metres above to smash their prey. Rowley Shoals (2)
Multiple hookups are the norm at Rowley Shoals, whether Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, or a mass attack including Wahoo and Dogtooth Tuna. There are some big Dogtooth at Rowleys and along with their mates the Wahoo, they managed to decimate our tackle and lures.
