Noel Gyger - Douglas Channel COHO mayhem! Video description by Ron Wakita of Reliable Guide and Charters. I had the pleasure of fishing with my good friends Noel Gyger and Ron Jones on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 We hooked 7 Coho and landed 4, Among the 4 Coho we landed was a Double header that Ron and I landed 2 for 2. It was an enjoyable morning of fishing with 2 very good friends. We caught some Coho, ate some Crab, told some fish stories while fishing in the Kitimat Harbour. A Big ’Thank You’ to Noel’s wife, Gail for providing us with the zuccini loaf. I hope you enjoy the Crab that we sent home with Noel as much as we enjoyed your zucchini Loaf. Bon Appetite! We were trolling with Hot Spot’s Blue/Green UV Flasher and Rhys Davis Blue/Green Metallic Anchovie Teaser and Rhys Davis Anchovies from Berry’s Bait and Tackle. The high lines were the most active using Gibbs 8 and 12oz. Skeena River Canada Chinook (King) Salmon fishing
I went Chinook (King) Salmon fishing with my nephew Justin Gyger on the Skeena River on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. This is a very popular time of year. There were lots of boats fishing where we were...but the Skeena is a BIG river, lots of room for everybody. We went 1 for 4 which means we hooked a total of 4 Chinook and landed one. Justin aka Judge estimated this fish to weigh around 38-pounds but I’d say it was closer to 40-pounder. Anyway, it was a big fish. Tackle used: Ambassadeur http://www.purefishing

Ron landed this beautiful, bright doe using ’Delta’ artificial drifter salmon eggs (aka space-man), white wool and a super sharp Gamagatsu size 2-ott barbless hook. The rod is a 10.5 foot Skeena River King Trophy XL graphite class 10-17LB. The reel is a Abu Garcia 6600 C4 filled with 15-pound Berkley Big Game fishing line. The foam float was made by Gibbs Tackle. St

Video of Bull and Cutthroat Trout Fishing Trip. Dustin Kovacvich, head guide for Nicholas Dean Lodge and I went fly fishing for Trout on a small Skeena River tributary on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Dustin caught a Bull Trout on his first cast...no kidding. We hooked a half dozen fish in less than three hours. If you want to learn ’how to’ catch Trout (Bull Trout, Dolly Varden Char, Cutthroat and Rainbow Trout) on a 5/6 weight fly rod you need to watch this video. Bull and Cutthroat Trout fishing vide
Kalum River Steelhead
My friend Chad Black was fishing with his spey fly rod and within ten minutes landed a nice Steelhead. In the ’olden days’ I used to fly fish but lately have taken up the spin rod. Luck was on my side today as I worked a nice run on the Kalum River and POW a nice female Steelhead ’makes my day’. I need to thank Chad for shooting some video...it is usually me who shoots the video. We had a GREAT DAY! We really did not fish that long about 3 or 4 hours. This one fish will keep me ’buzzed’ for the
Close to 50-pounder
Ron Wakita of Reliable Guide and Charters had an extra seat in his drift boat today and invited me to come along and fish for Chinook (King) Salmon on the Kitimat River. He was guiding Heinz. His daughter Julie also joined us. Heinz was extremely pleased to land this BIG Chinook today. I was happy to take the video and photos.
