Stick Baits and Poppers Fishing - How to catch Giant Trevally!!
MEMBER: Reefari >more from this member  >more related videos
CATEGORY: GT Fishing Videos COUNTRY: AUSTRALIA

This Video not only shows some great Giant Trevally fishing but also some great tips on how to catch Giant Trevally. GT’s are awesome to catch and take some stopping. This video, shows a bit on Stickbaits and poppers and a few tips about working the Reef edges where Giant Trevally love to hang. Look out for schools of fusiliers and bait. Giant trevally love splashing and action of poppers and with great surface strikes it is spectacular fishing. Make sure you’ve got plenty of Quality fishing gear and use braid of at least 50lb, preferably 80lb to stand a chance. Top quality reels with large drags are needed and Giant trevally will still pull line off you. Once hooked, back off the reef and use the boat to pull the fish clear if you can and normally they will fight clean once clear. But you do have to make sure there are no link weaks in your fishing tackle. We’ve also had the boys from ’fishin Trip’ our with us on our Recent Hardline Mothershipping trip with chasing Giant Trevally and they were blown away. They got some Phenomenal footage, a great work out and a full show on GT Fishing on the reef. This show will appear on Southern Cross, on sunday 6th or 13th, so keep an eye out for it and well worth watching. Giant trevally fishing video.

Reefari Fishing Charters - funny fishing - Big fish smashed Rod!!
Reefari Fishing Charters - funny fishing - Big fish smashed Rod!! This is a Funny fishing video with Jamie getting his rod smashed by a big cod. It had the crew laughing hysterically at Jamie’s misfortune and expense. Funny stuff, but that what happens on our fishing trips and we’re still constantly reminding and giving him heaps. Especially when it was one of his favourite $300 rods. Jamie is known as our Comic Relief!!Seriously though, you do have to be careful with Graphite rods, and they can be sens

Reefari Fishing Charters - Monster Golden Trevally!!
These couple of huge monster Golden Trevally were caught on our recent mothershipping Charter to the outer Great Barrier Reef. These were big fish, and some of the biggest Golden Trevally I’ve seen, pushing at least 10 Kilograms and about as big as they grow. They also fight hard and take some stopping and this was with 50lb braid. Not sure if they get a similar fish in the United states, but the trevally family is referred to Jacks over there. Golden Trevally can be found from inshore estuaries, reefs to

Reefari - Giant Trevally Fishing with River 2 Sea Dumbell Popper 200 Steve does battle with a nice Giant Trevally caught on a River 2 Sea Dumbell Popper on our recent mothershipping Charter to the great Barrier Reef from Mackay, Queensland. This was a great GT pushing 20 Kilo’s landed on 80lb Braid and a Tuff tackle Diablo 1000 spinning reel, and gave him a good workout. Giant Trevally are the Bulldozers of the Reef and takes some serious tackle to stop them. The River 2 Sea dumbell poppers are a great lu

Reefari - Awesome Fishing Video, Big Red Emperor Fish Boom!! More awesome fishing video action with a multiple big Red Emperor hookups!! The reef fishing was a bit slow and the call was made to go and find some new fishing ground. This was bit of a gamble going wide into further unknown areas, and can be either fish boom or bust. Luckily we got fish boom and found a red hot spot. More video on the full session coming soon, but this was just one hot drift, and four big Reds and a large Coral trout came up in
