Something to look out for is there incredible suction, keep them well clear of the boat, as this Octopus latched on with a vengeance, and wouldn’t let go. Luckily he wasn’t hooked, and let go of the bait. something a bit different which you don’t see every day. If you know what type of Octopus it is please feel free to leave a comment? We caught off Mackay on the Great Barrier Reef. Quite large about 50cm across or more? So just be aware next time you hook an Octupus, he was quite a good size one. We assume he let go once we got some speed up again. We would’ve let him go anyway. These couple of huge monster Golden Trevally were caught on our recent mothershipping Charter to the outer Great Barrier Reef. These were big fish, and some of the biggest Golden Trevally I’ve seen, pushing at least 10 Kilograms and about as big as they grow.
