There are good fishing grounds wide off Newcastle, you can encounter serious Marlin and tough Yellowfin Tuna around any of the canyons. Its a good idea to have your favourite blue marlin lure at least on a 37kg outfit when in the cobalt, some nasty blues haunt these waters.

Yellowfin Tuna, Striped Tuna, Snapper and numerous sharks, all but a few Yellowfin Tuna were released.
