Floria Everglades Bass Fishing Report 8/17/2008
The bite in the everglades right now is getting better every day that we have this hot weather. With the water in the flats reaching 90 degrees it has become too hot for some of the bass and they seem to be seeking the deeper/cooler water in the canals.I have been guiding so much for peacock bass lately I did not know what to expect for this tournament and we simply fished areas that have traditionally held fish this time of year.
Peacock Bass Fishing Report – Florida 8/15/2008
Mark had caught a few smaller peacocks up in Palm Beach where they are steadily growing in numbers but had not seen any like we have down in MIami. We launched at the airport lakes and fished a run that I have been staying on for the past couple of weeks. Once again it produced 20 peacock bass and some other exotics in a full day trip. At final count we had 21 peacocks, 2 or 3 largemouth bass, 2 jaguar guapote, a mayan cichlid and a talapia.

We got right on the fish and they ate great for us until the afternoon thunderstorms came and forced us off the water.

We caught fish at just about every place that I stopped which kept the boys busy most of the day. There is still a decent largemouth bite in the glades if you are in the right sector and with 25 pounds winning last weeks tournament there are still big fish for al

It’s not uncommon for anglers to catch 15-20 peacock bass in one day full day on the water.
Largemouth Bass Fishing
Here in sunny South Florida, we enjoy world class largemouth bass fishing year round. Whether it is up on Lake Okeechobee or in the canals of the Florida Everglades, there is always a bass fishing adventure ready for you here in our region.
