Cape York is situated at the very top of Australia. A wild, untamed and largely inaccessible part of the country with absolute pristine river systems which have not seen any commercial fishing nor many flies or plugs. Inhabited by wild boar, crocodiles, and an abundance of birdlife and of course fantastic sportsfish. The West Coast - Jardine River is one of the most famous of Cape York Peninsular. This river system is spring fed to the tune of 10,000 gallons a second coming from underground. As a result the water is crystal clear presenting great sight fishing opportunities. The East Coast - Jackey Jackey/Escape River systems are absolutely huge, the mouth of Jackey Jackey is 12 miles across and the whole system encompasses around 50 miles of coastline with large river systems running inland from there. This area would take more than a lifetime to fully explore.
