Capt. Peter Morello Capt. Peter Morello has over 25 years of experience running many different vessels from Canada down to Florida and the Bahamas. Peter has his 100ton Master license and Towing Endorsement. He has landed many Giant Bluefin Tuna and was active in local fishing clubs, including a 3 year term as President of The Green Harbor Tuna Club and 3 additional years as Vice President.Peter also served on the Board of Directors of the General Category Tuna Ass.
The Fishing
The species include sailfish, dorado(mahi-mahi), wahoo and cobia, blackfin tuna, amberjack, king mackerel, spanish mackerel, bonita, shark, barracuda, tarpon are caught sometimes on a year round basis as they seasonally migrate through the deep sea waters of Southeast Florida. Kingfish, Bonito, Tuna, Grouper, Snapper, Amberjack, Tarpon, Sharks, Blue Marlin, Swordfish, Snook, Mackerel, Blue Runner,Jacks.
There’s no shortage of dolphin and sailfish off the coast at this time of year. With weed lines about 350 feet offshore and wrecks and reefs in shallower water, a lot of game fish have come in from deeper waters to feed. Stuart also has its residential sails, which are able to be caught year round an in less than 60 feet of water. This time of year we can catch dolphin in the 15-19 pound range, all day long. The same with swordfish and we don’t have to go that far.
The inlet is fantastic in Stuart, everything is close.A lot of charter Captains will run straight out and drop their bait then troll. With everything so close we can pick up our gear and move on to find the fish. Even if we have to go ten miles one direction, we’ll do it. For us no trip is successful unless the customers have the time of their lives and that includes anyone that boards.
My Other Honey currently offers half day, full day, and dusk-to-midnight fishing charters. Our customers enjoy the boat, its safety and the knowledge that mate, Chris Watkins and myself offer their guests. ’I recently had an 86 year old man catch an 80 pound sailfish, for me it doesn’t get any better than that’
