Captain Brook Wallace As you can see, I’ve been fishing for quite some time. When I was a kid, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to sportfish whenever I wanted, which was often. My dad, Don Wallace Jr., was a bass tournament fisherman, when he wasn’t selling real estate in Orlando. Since the ’80s I’ve been tournament fishing with Dad and my brother, Dan Wallace. Dan has just as much and more local fishing knowledge and with Dad, helps run the business.
The Boat Miss Kenzie is a 24 foot Pursuit, with new Yamaha 250 4-stroke engine. Center console with privacy cabin/head. T-Top with night fishing light. Perfect for up to 6 people comfortably, inshore and offshore. Very roomy bow and stern. Seating for 6 up front, with large storage compartments and rodholders. Spacious stern with big live wells, rodholders, and chum station. Back corner entry to platform, with attachable swim ladder.
The Fishing
Snook fishing is my personal favorite. Great fish to target. They are the ultimate inshore quest. We use live bait and have some secret spots that produce trophies each year. Season and limits change often as this fish is highly protected. Nothing better to eat. We also fish for snook at night for better chance of catching the monsters. PERMIT fishing, great May - July, nearshore to offshore, using live baby blue crabs, pass crabs, and shrimp.
Redfish are one of our favorite fish to catch. We use live bait and light to medium tackle. Redfish are an ’Inshore’ specie and are usually caught in large schools. Exciting to battle, these fish are great eating. Limit is one ’keeper’ per person and must be between 18 and 27 inches. We target redfish all year and promote catch and release, however we are happy to fillet all legal catches for your party. We catch many ’Trophy Reds’ each year
Tarpon are plentiful in our local waters during the summer months. Considered the ultimate gamefish among gulf coast anglers, tarpon challenge even the most experienced fisherman to dig deep. These fish are unbelievable. Most are in the 80-90 lb. range and many are caught over 100 lbs. Strictly a ’Catch &Release’ sportfish, we catch them on medium to heavy tackle with live bait.
