Tag and Release Salvador Sportfishing releases 100% of all Billfish that are caught. Due to the limited supply, we will not permit the killing of Billfish and will release all of them. At NO TIME will Billfish be allowed to be brought on our boats to be photographed with an individual angler. This puts too much added stress on the Billfish. The Billfish MUST remain in the water and be RELEASED.
The Fishing
October Reports. Fishing on the World Famous EL BUDSTER. Harrell Minzenmayer from Rockport, TX and Steve Orcutt &Ken from Casper, WY combine to catch, tag and release seven STRIPED MARLIN. All the STRIPED MARLIN were between 90 - 130 lbs. They were all caught on World Famous Black Bart lures. The fighting times were all between 20 - 35 minutes. All the fish were caught at the Golden Gate Reef. The water temp. was 84 - 86 degrees
George &Patrick Talbot from Blue Springs, MO have a wonderful day. They combine to catch &release FIVE STRIPED MARLIN ( 120 - 120 - 125 - 130 - 135 lbs. ) All were caught on live Caballitos. The fighting times were all between 25 - 45 minutes. They also caught three 20 - 25 lb. DORADOS. On the EL BUDSTER II. Andrew Spencer from Seattle, WA catches and releases a 130 lb. STRIPED MARLIN. It is caught trolling a ( blue-white-yellow ) lure. The fighting time was 25 minutes.
Harrell Minzenmayer from Rockport, TX has a day to remember. He catches and releases six STRIPED MARLIN ( 90 - 100 - 110 - 120 - 120 - 130 lbs.) He also catches and releases a 70 lb. SAILFISH. All were caught on the World Famous BLACK BART lures. The fighting times were all between 20 - 30 minutes. All the BILLFISH were caught 8 - 10 miles out on the Golden Gate Reef.On the EL BUDSTER II. The John Koch party from Glenwood Springs, CO catch eight DORADO. ( 20 - 30 lbs. ) They keep six and release
The Paul Whittle party from Kodiak, AK catches eleven DORADO ( 20 -25 lbs. ). They release seven and keep four. Fishing on the EL BUDSTER II. The Robert Ralston party from Eugene, OR has a fine day. They catch and release a 200 lb. BLUE MARLIN. It is caught trolling a purple lure. The fighting time is one hour. They also catch and release a 120 lb. STRIPED MARLIN . It is caught on a live Pacific Mackerel and takes 35 minutes to get to the boat. They finish by catching four DORADO( 20 - 25 lbs. )
