MV Independence The MV Independence is a 45ft Caribbean Bertram powered by twin 6V92 Detriots delivering 1100hp. The vessel cruises at 18 knots with a top speed of 25 knots. It has a very large cockpit with excellent fishability and top quality tackle from 3kg to 37kg, with a ’relax’ custom made fighting chair. A full size master cabin with en-suite, a 3 berth forward cabin with 2 single berths. There is another separate shower and head facilities.
Captain Marc Noakes I have fished the Northland and East Coasts of New Zealand for all my working life, since leaving school in 1984. During that time I have experience in both commercial and charter boat operations, including 3 seasons in Kona Hawaii, Cairns Australia and the South Pacific Islands. With over 20 years of experience he has a wealth of knowledge and talent that is priceless. His consistent tournament results are a testament to this.

From the Poor Knights Islands in the South to the famous Three Kings Islands in the north you will be fishing in New Zealand’s hottest gamefishing waters.
During the summer months the Northland waters give you the option of Striped, Blue and Black Marlin, Sharks, Tuna, and Mahimahi. All year round you can target Broadbill, Snapper, Hapuka, or the mighty Kingfish, plus a large range of other fish species.
You will be able to overnight in some of New Zealand’s most beautiful bays close to the fishing hotspots or for the really keen you could be out Broadbill fishing during the night targeting the gladiator of the seas.
We offer a range of options from heavy tackle gamefishing through to the excitement of light tackle gamefishing or fly fishing.
You may prefer to target the numerous species of bottom fish available around the coast or on the off shore reefs.
