The First Mate Scott with a 39’ Muskie. Welcome to the beautiful area of Citrus County otherwise known as the Nature Coast. The Crystal River and Homosassa area is home to many deer, wild pigs, coyotes, raccoons, alligators, manatees and many different types of birds just to name a few, and all can be seen on any given day on a boat ride. Speckled trout, redfish, sheepshead, shark, spanish mackerel, grouper, flounder, cobia, mangrove snapper, and tarpon.
My first fish bigger than a Bullhead Here is an amazing fish story. The woman seen here purchased a gift certificate for her husband as a birthday present for two. The husband decided to share his day with her. 15 minutes into the day she thought she was on bottom. After ensuring a good hookset she was told to have fun reeling in whatever was at the other end. To her surprise it was a 31 lb 48’ Muskie caught on a spoon, 12lb test, and no leader. A fish of a lifetime.
