Captain Jeff Wolfe Jeff Wolfe is a USCG fullly insured licensed captain with over thirty years of fishing experience in the Cape Fear area. He started working the waters part-time at the age of sixteen and went to work full-time, as a fisherman, at the age of twenty one. Jeff is a people person and enjoys helping them, especially children, catch fish. He specializes in fishing charters for families, and for anglers of all skill levels.
The Fishing
Boats we may use: 21’ Kenner Bay Boat - sound, river, creeks, bays and ocean nearshore. 17’ Ranger Banshee Extreme - flats, creeks, bays, river and sound. 19’ Deluxe Carolina Skiff with covered top - seafood charters, creeks, bays, sound and river. Primarily on our fishing charters we will depart the Carolina Beach Public Boat Ramp. We can access all the waters that we will fish in approximately 30 minutes or less. We will fish for all inshore and nearshore species which will include but not limited to Red Drum, Flounder, Speckled Trout, Spanish and King Mackeral, Cobia, Sharks, Black Drum, Black Sea Bass, Sheephead and Pompano. Buzzard’s Bay is the favored body of water to sight cast for redfish. The oyster bars and shallow flats act as some of the primary areas
Sightfishing involves quietly searching for the fish by using the trolling motor or by poling the boat from the poling platform. We will be looking for wakes that are created by swimming redfish or mud boils caused by fish beneath the surface. This is some of the most exciting fishing we can do. My 17’ Ranger Banshee Extreme was designed for this typed of fishing. We will need light winds for this charter. If the wind picks up we can fish the creeks for redfish speckled trout, flounder
The 2005 21’ Kenner Bay boat is an excellent all around boat. It is powered by a 2007 150 Suzuki four stroke outboard. It is equipped with two live wells, trolling motor, GPS and fish finder. There is plenty of cushioned seating for family and friends. It is a fisherman’s boat with amenities that make it family friendly.
