The Fishing
August. Live lining action is hot. Fishing with light to medium tackle has been highly productive the past couple weeks and still going strong. We have been catching spot &perch for bait and then live lining to catch larger rockfish and bluefish.
We have see some of the first spanish mackeral also begin to show up from fast trolling after rockfish limits are caught. We are definitely in the heat of the summer fishing and it’s good!Early Summer Chesapeake Bay Fishing Early summer fishing has been consistent with Rockfish averaging 18’ - 24’ with occasional fish over 30’ still being caught. We are still trolling since it is proving to be the best way to catch the fish.
Late Spring Chesapeake Bay Fishing. Well, trophy season was very good this year with most fish averaging 32’-36’ and approx. 20lbs. Although, we did see many rockfish over 40’ and 40+ lbs. We are now into the full swing of late spring fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. Rockfish are now averaging 18’ - 24’ with occasional fish over 30’ being caught. The action has been consistent throughout the first part of the fishing season. We look forward to having you aboard
Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing is a full-time entertaining operation available for private charters seven days a week from April - December in Maryland and December - February in Virginia Beach. All weather decisions will be made the morning or afternoon of your scheduled charter. If the captain feels the weather conditions are unsafe, then we will gladly reschedule your trip.
