FISHING LOCATIONS. FLAMINGO is part of the Everglades National Park, which is just 10 miles south of Homestead, FL. Once in the park, it is a peaceful drive to the Flamingo boat ramps. It is beautiful and secluded bounding with wildlife. It is not unusual to see Bald Eagles, Alligators, Crocodiles and if you’re very fortunate, the elusive Florida Panther. It is the largest protected sub-tropical wilderness in the continental United States. The fish are abundant and the fishing spectacular.
Every change of season brings a different species to its shallow waters. Flamingo is unique in that there are actually three bodies of water that are easily accessible in a single day of fishing. The shallows of Florida Bay, the Gulf coast beaches and the backcountry of Whitewater Bay, which will spill out of the Shark River estuary into the Gulf of Mexico.
