Mabel Lake is one of the more scenic lakes in the Okanagan area. Approximately a 1-1/2 hour drive from Kelowna this pristine wilderness lake can offer some spectacular fishing opportunities. The main fish targeted are Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Bull Trout ( Dolly Varden ) and Chinook Salmon. Fishing for Chinook Salmon is a unique opportunity that takes place from late July to mid September yielding average size fish from 15 to 25 pounds with fish as large as 40 pounds. Our Boat 2006 Thunderjet Alexis 21-foot hardtop, powered by a whisper quiet, non polluting 175 hp fuel injected Suzuki 4 stroke and a Suzuki 4 stroke 15 hp kicker. This boat is noted to be one of the best welded aluminum boats in its class for safety and comfort. We are equipped with 4 Scotty Depthpower electric downriggers, Planer boards, Lowrance dual frequency sonar / GPS chartplotter, VHF radio and an underwater video system.
The Fishing
Trolling from our 21’ custom welded Thunderjet boat. Species targeted are Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Salmon and Kokanee. Our fishing methods include jigging, flat line trolling, planer boards and downrigging. We also use a ’state of the art’ underwater camera and LCD monitor that allows us to watch fish come in and bite your lure! Not only is this a fun and exciting way to fish but very educational.
Trolling, Fly Fishing &Casting from our 14’ welded Crestliner boat. Species targeted are Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, Walleye, Largemouth Bass and Smallies. Fishing methods are flyfishing, trolling, and casting. Fly Fishing from our Outcast pontoon kick boats. These lightweight boats give us the option to fish our remote hike in lakes for a ’REEL’ outdoor experience on a secluded mountain lake. Species targeted are Rainbow Trout and Brook Trout. Fishing methods are primarily flyfishing.
Float Plane fishing trips with Air-Hart Aviation. Get a ’birds eye view’ of the Okanagan as you are flown to a lake where you’ll step off the pontoon and into our boat for a great day of fishing! Mountain Lake Fly Fishing. Secluded mountain lake fishing at it’s finest. The scenery is breath taking and the solitude and quietness are unbeatable. Bass Fishing. The Okanagan has an incredible ’untapped’ Bass fishery for both Large and Smallmouth Bass. We fish Skaha, Vaseux and Osoyoos Lake and these lakes consistently produce fish to 4 pounds with catches as big as 7 pounds not uncommon! This lake can offer some great fishing all year around. The main fish targeted are Rainbow Trout, Kokanee and Burbot. <br>If you want to target the ‘Big One’ your best time to do this is during the months of October, November and December.
