Phuket. The magical island of Phuket is widely referred to as the ’Pearl of the Andaman Sea. The Andaman Sea is home to numerous species of gamefish. Many species are present year-round and there is a continuous procession of migratory visitors that use Phuket and the neighbouring islands as regular pit-stops. As with virtually every gamefishing venue, there are specific seasons when the pelagic visitors are more prolific. The most productive seasons also depend on weather and sea conditio
Similan Islands. The Black Marlin action over the ’Don Mai’ seamount 20-miles west of the world-famous Similan Islands is at its hottest from October through March. This impressive seamount also offers outstanding action with Wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna. A live-on-board safari to the Similans offers clients excellent fishing and stunning scenic beauty. The Similans are a group of 9 virtually uninhabited islands, roughly 60-miles North West of Phuket.
Phuket on its day has some can match with some of the more well known fishing spots around the world. The Racha Islands roughly 15 miles from Phuket offers some great fishing for sailfish normally during the afternoon and on the right tides good fun can be had casting poppers to shoals of Giant Trevally. Further afield the Similan Islands 60 miles North of Phuket offers During Oct-march the seamount Ton Mai west of the islands gives you the best shot at catching a Black Marlin and big wahoo.

Although belonging to India, the archipelago is actually closer to Thailand than it is to the Indian subcontinent.
