Sport Fishing with Dan Hernandez

Dan's Update

Just wanted to say to everyone and thank you all for your support. I wish the fishing was better for all of us. I’ve spent most of this week and last week working on my boat, I think it’ll finally be up and running over this weekend. You can see video clips from on my blog and on our You Tube channel on the work we have been doing. Our next fishing trip will be next Friday aboard the Sea Angler out of 22nd Street landing in San Pedro. It will be a ¾ day local trip. After that we’ll be on the Mirage on the 31st fishing the Channel Islands. You can sign up for all of these trips on my website at www.sport-fishing.com. To keep up with everything that’s new, you should become a fan of us on Face Book.

From Larry, Charter Master

Summer to Fall

We are coming to the end of summer and we are still waiting for the exotics to bite. Usually by Labor Day the San Diego boats are going full speed on the yellowfin tuna, yellowtail and dorados. LA would have good fishing on the calicos, bonitos and yellowtails and Oxnard would be having a good shot at the islands yellowtails. By all reports the fish are out there but are not willing to bite because of cool waters and lots of bait in the water, but this should all change soon as the water warms up from the hotter weather and the bait begins to scatter. Down south the boats are seeing lots of tunas and at the islands some boats get into good white seabass and yellowtail fishing. So the fishing should start getter better as we approach the fall months. So come join us on one of our next trips. You don’t want to be at home when the fish start biting. Sea Angler, ¾ day Fri. 8/27, local or Catalina Isl., Mirage, overnight Mon. 8/30 Channel Isl. and the Dolphin 2, 1 ½ day 9/8 offshore tuna.

If you have any questions about any of our fishing trips please call me at 562-221-1278. Click here to view our 2010 charters.
