San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador
Conditions have remained very much similar since our last report. The wind has been averaging 8 to 12 knots for the last few days. Water temperatures continue to hold between 74 and 75.3 F on most days offshore. In the harbor and near shore the water remains 72.5 F. Fishing continues to be favorable.
June 8, 2010 the Big Fish headed to Rosa Blanca bank for a day of fishing. The sea was deep blue with 4 ft chops in the morning that calmed considerably towards the afternoon. The fish were stacked on the Honey Hole. Anglers Daniel Mascaro, son Daniel Jr. and Marlon Diaz were out to catch a few stripes on spinning rods. They had their hands full as they chose to have the fish teased to the boat and cast poppers to them much like in fly fishing. Not much bird life was on the surface but plenty of bait showed in the monitor. Daniel was able to hook a big stripey estimated 180 lbs on his first cast. Plenty of action led to 27 raises and 12 bites on poppers with 4 releases. Remember all these fish were caught using spinning rod and reels and teased to the boat.

June 9, 2010 the Big Fish cruised to Rosa Blanca bank for almost a repeat of the previous day. The Honey Hole had plenty of fish making their presence felt. The father and son team Daniel and Daniel plus their friend Marlon again wanted to test their will with spinning tackle. The day was full of jumps and the seas were choppy but stable all day. The tally for the day was 28 raises of stripes and 13 bites with 4 releases on spinning rods and poppers. Many opportunities with 2 or 3 fish in the spread.
June 10, 2010 the Big Fish spent the day fishing for wahoo, tuna and bottom fishing with jigs.
Folks there are plenty of fish in Galapagos. Come and enjoy a trip of a lifetime in the best marlin waters in the World! We still have some open dates this year so make sure you take advantage of them
