Weekly Fishing Report by “Picante Sportfishing”
January 26th. to February 1st. 2010
Our fishing report is compiled from the weekly catches of our fleet.
We’ll update the report every Monday.
Food fish continue to dominate the catches around the Baja Peninsula
this week. With the “El Nino” conditions still prevalent and the full moon
over the weekend, the billfish bite was spotty. However, the Yellowfin
Tuna, Dorado, Sierra and Yellowfin continued to provide lots of
action for our charter clients. On the 26th. our good friend Andy Hulcy
and his friends had another great day on our 32’ Cabo Express named
“Picante Express” with Captain Antonio Romero at the helm released a
Pacific Sailfish and boated or released 21 Yellowfin Tuna. Mr. Delia
and his family could not of been happier alter a day on the water with
Captain Ivan Gomez piloting or 32’ Cabo “Picante Express” releasing a
Striped Marlin and a 6 ft. Mako Shark fishing on the 28th. On Jaunary
30th. the TEAM PICANTE boys headed out for a day on the water fishing
with Captain Emiliano Arenas at the controls and Mate Pedro Orantes
working the cockpit on our 45’ Cabo Express “Picante 45”. It was tough
getting the marlin to bite but we did end up releasing 1 Striped Marlin and
boated or released 6 Yellowfin Tuna and 4 Dorado.
