Fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee has had a bit of a slow start for most with cold, cold water temps the fish are a bit lethargic. With this past weeks warm front things have started to look more promising with the fish starting to feed in the upper water column from 20’ to the surface. Our best luck has been using planner boards with a couple of colors of lead core line and a nice long 75’ leader tipped with seaguar 6# Fluorocarbon. Hottest stuff for us have been fly’s with the Fire Smelt

Hottest stuff for us have been fly’s with the Fire Smelt being our best producer! We have talked to many Angler’s doing very well on live bait which is always a great technique early season. Our biggest tip is try and find some warmer water temps and if they are not hitting make a move! Last but not least just get out there and enjoy yourself!
