Hirsh Charters Specializes in “Both” Bottom Fishing and Pelagic fishing and both types are incredibly fun and rewarding, however the art of Pelagic sport fishing can best be described as hours of boredom wrapped around minutes of excitement, which is not for the angler who wants to go out and reel in fish after fish, for that type of experience we suggest going bottom fishing. Bottom fishing with us is constant fish catching with the excitement of wondering if it’s a Big Gag grouper, Amber Jack, or a massive American Red Snapper that you’re wrestling up to the surface, if you want a great day out on the water catching fish after fish until your arms feel like spaghetti, this is the trip we recommend. With some lucky trolling lures and a Teaser, there will be a total of 6 lines being pulled from the back of the boat set in a strategic formation designed to get the attention of the fish we are targeting, since we are hunting for the Trophy Fish, our main goal is to land the “Man in the Blue Suite” AKA the Florida Blue Marlin, and his friends Whitey and Mr. Sail Fish, our spread also targets Tuna, Wahoo, and Dolphin. Captain Mike will run the boat at around 6 Knots in a pattern.

We specialize in both Trolling and Bottom fishing and compete frequently in fishing tournaments throughout the gulf coast and beyond, our local experience of the waters off Sarasota, Bradenton, Anna Maria Island and Tampa bay is sure to put you on to fish.
The Boat
It took years and years of fishing on everything from a 1977 25’ mako to a 32’ palmetto for us to know exactly what our perfect boat would be and what it would need to have. After two years of research and development the Custom built Hirsh 37 was born. A custom built boat designed to do extreme offshore tournament fishing with a fast cruise speed to maximize the time that the lines are in the water, and a long range tank to get out wide.
The Crew
A Life long native of Bradenton FL, Mike has made his career being on the water. In addition to being a Licensed Captain, Mike is a jack of all trades when it comes to boats, as owner of a boat repair and customization shop Mike is a master boat builder and outboard mechanic, the “Custom HIRSH 37 itself is a floating bill board for what Mike is capable of.
